Description

Cascade Hops Are Used Mainly For Their Aromatic Properties, But Are Also Used As A Bittering Hop. They Are Primarily Used In Pale Ales, Porters And Some Barley Wines. They Can Also Be Used In Witbiers for a more Orange type Citrus Aroma. Origin Was From Open pollination of a Fuggle seedling, derived from Fuggle and Serebrianka. Cascade Are A Mid-Season Fruiting Hop. It Was The First commercial hop from the USDA-ARS breeding program; bred in 1956 and realeased in 1972. Usually Described As Citrusy And Flowery With High Grapefruit and Orange Overtones.
